What is this about?

On February 24, 2022 Russia launched a full scale invasion and war against Ukraine. This invasion has already cost thousands of Ukrainian lives, destroyed the livelihoods of millions of Ukrainians, impacted global food security, and caused Europe’s largest refugee crisis since World War II.

In our view, the best path to peace is by supporting Ukraine to be able to defend themselves from this Russian aggression. Let’s provide our prayers for peace along with direct charitable help.

We get asked regularly by friends, family, and customers how they can help. The outpouring of compassion by them and the rest of the world brings us to tears.

How does it impact us?

We live the situation every day during this war. 80% of our employees are located in Ukraine and some of our employees have had their families’ homes bombed, families displaced, and been impacted emotionally for the rest of their lives by this situation.

Below we would like to share a story from one of our employees.

On February 24, 2022 Russian soldiers brought the war to my parents’ village in Kharkiv. From the very first day of their attack, there was no water or electricity and the mobile connection worked only in one spot of the village. Every phone call with my parents finished with shots and explosions and they had to run to a safe place. I was fearing for my parent’s lives. I felt helpless to stop this nightmare from happening.

One evening it was extremely cold and my parents went to their neighbors who had a fireplace. A few minutes after they got to their neighbors, a Russian projectile hit their home. The entire house was damaged. They, along with the neighbors and several others in the neighborhood went to hide in the basement. Intense fights between Russian and Ukrainian forces continued. They were freezing and terrified. The roof of the neighbor’s house then also got hit.

As soon as it was safe, my parents packed the bare necessities and tried to leave the village. There was only one road to escape and the Russian soldiers had placed mines on it to kill people using the road. As they traveled on the road there were many cars on the side of the road that damaged by explosions. Fortunately, my parents managed to get out safely and traveled to Ternopil. One of my colleagues from Varyence helped them and put up them in his apartment.

After two months of living in Ternopil, they found out that the village was freed from Russian troops and were able to return back home. They found their home not only damaged but also discovered many things were even stolen from their home.

My parents have been working on trying to repair their home, clean their home, and restore it to livable conditions.
