Mobile Authenticator App for SaaS Enterprise IT Remote Access Platform

Our customer runs a SaaS Enterprise IT Remote Access platform that manages millions of secure Remote Desktop sessions globally each year.

They needed to implement secure Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) which should not rely on SMS text messages.  

To address this issue, the customer needed a modern and user-friendly MFA solution that could be easily adopted by their extensive client base, while also providing enhanced security. 

Varyence took complete responsibility for the design, development, hosting, and distribution of the mobile and cloud components. We also handled UI/UX design, project management, and quality assurance activities. 

Varyence continues to maintain and enhance all platform components.

Varyence developed a custom mobile authenticator application that provides Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) compliant Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and push authentication capabilities to users of the platform.

• Simplify and secure the authentication process  
• Reduce user identity authentication process time by at least 10 seconds 
• Secure certain privileged access management transactions within platform against a user device private encryption key as an additional layer of security 
• Provide users with a mobile authenticator application that provides push authentication and advanced encryption capabilities for platform 
• Create a seamless experience for users integrated across all components 
• Ensure UI/UX is on-brand

• Mobile client for iOS and Android platforms 
• TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Password algorithm) compliant solution, compatible with sites that already support Google Authenticator 
• Enabled ability for users to receive a Push Notification and perform Push Authentication by selecting to Approve or Reject push notification
• Enabled users to obtain one-time 6-digit code if they prefer to enter it manually instead of using Push Authentication 
• Implemented private key on local authenticator used to encrypt against for certain privileged access manager transactions within the platform. This provides additional security beyond MFA
